About the role:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician position will be responsible for operating and maintaining Facilities systems and equipment, general building maintenance and repairs, monitoring/supervision of various building construction projects, Facilities system upgrades and expansions. This role will also include assisting the Operations team with manufacturing equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, and various other operations related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Facilities systems and equipment, including HVAC and exhaust systems, compressed air systems, electrical systems, house vacuum system, fire alarm system, Security system, etc.
- General building maintenance and repairs for the building, office areas, restrooms, R&D Lab, warehouse, etc.
- Coordinate third party maintenance and repairs for Facilities systems and the building
- Monitoring/supervision of Facilities equipment installation, upgrades and various construction projects
- Develop preventative maintenance program/schedule and spare parts management for Facilities systems and equipment
- Management of outsourced janitorial services, third party trash and recycling services
- Ordering of Propane cylinders, Nitrogen and Argon dewars
- Monthly fire extinguisher and safety shower inspections
- Assist the operations team with various equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, etc.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of manufacturing equipment
- Perform/abide by Lock Out/Tag Out procedures (LOTO)
- Operate Forklift, Genie Lift
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and protocols
Education, training, skills, and professional experience
- 3+ years of experience in Facilities equipment and building maintenance.
- Experience with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic system troubleshooting and repairs
- General construction skills such as electrical, piping/plumbing, pneumatics, drywall repair and wall anchors, general building maintenance
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
- Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
- Strong verbal and written communication, good organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows, EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., and work in hot and cold conditions
- Ability to operate Forklifts a strong plus
