AMP is hiring a Robotics Software Intern reporting to the Robotics Architect on an in-person basis in Louisville, CO. This internship will run June 2nd, 2025 - Aug 22nd, 2025.
This internship will participate in the development of a novel battery sorting system as part of a Department of Energy research grant. This internship will occur during the preliminary phase of this project as AMP evaluates the efficacy of different sortation approaches.

As our Robotics Software Intern, you will work to:
- Adapt existing software to allow rapid testing of different sortation approaches
- Develop laboratory testing approaches to validate sorting effectiveness
- Participate in the design and concepting of battery sorting system prototypes
- Assist in conducting laboratory trials
- As a requirement of the associated grant funding a final presentation of internship findings must be made and submitted as a grant artifact

The successful candidate will have:
Required:
- Programming Knowledge in a memory managed language like C++ or Rust
- Mechanically inclined / comfortable working with hardware
- Passion for recycling, robotics and changing the world
- Ability to commute to work at our Louisville office
Preferred:
- Experience working with hardware/software systems in a project capacity
- Working knowledge of computer vision approaches and common frameworks
- Practical knowledge in design of experiments and statistical analysis
Education:
- Currently pursuing a graduate OR undergraduate degree in a robotics related field
Experience:
- None required outside of education
